WHY YOU HAVE TO BUY PET INSURANCE?

Thinking why you should have to bother with pet insurance? While there are quiets of reasons why you may choose to cover your pet with pet insurance, I’ll tell you the moment that decided it for me. when my dog was just a year old, he fell ill unexpectedly and needed emergency surgery. Surgery saved his life, but the veterinary bills were astronomical. Without pet insurance, I would have been forced to make a difficult choice between paying for his care and providing for my family’s other needs. However, because I had pet insurance, the financial burden was greatly reduced, and I was able to focus on my dog’s recovery without worrying about the cost.

“Pets always seem to fall ill in business hours, really they ? ”

There was a receptionist in the emergency section of the clinic, she gave me a strange smile and returned my credit card.

Then the best news was that an antihistamine shot would quickly help my pup recover from an insect bite reaction. The bad news was that $550 was added to my credit card balance & got Burdon.

Then quickly i vowed to purchase pet insurance the next day.

But, what I thought was a quick and simple transaction turned into two days of building complicated excel-sheet comparing every pet insurance policy I could find.

How would a Pet Owner became a Pet Insurance Advocate

Hi, my name’s Mike. i live in Perth Australia with my kind awesome puppy.

However, I have started this website to cover all the pets insurance which i faced issue for my puppy, In case you’re thinking , it was never my intention to publish or run a website about pet insurance reviews. I found over 15  brands to choose from, each with a complex set of benefits and limitations and a wide range of prices 7 verities.

Doing research in a deep way 7 carefully, so I made a huge spreadsheet covering the key points of almost every plan. and, using this information, I was able to do find the lucrative & best pet insurance for my Puppy.

From there to here, I shared the Excel sheet with a few friends, who encouraged me to put my findings online. Then it sparked ideas, and before I knew it, I’d added write-ups on every pet insurance brand I could find — and more information.

Here are some of the key points & things that I wonder you should know about pet insurance for your dog or cat:

Category & types of coverage :

Most of the pet insurance brands offers the three levels of coverage :-

Accident : – It’s important to choose a policy that fits your specific needs and budget. Basically policies may be a fabulous option for those who are looking to get coverage for injuries, such as lacerations or a broken leg, at an affordable price. These policies typically have a low cost, no waiting period, and no age limit. However, it’s important to note that basic policies have limitations. & may not provide coverage for treatment of illnesses or other medical conditions, which could result in significant out-of-pocket expenses.

Accident & Illness disease : – basically is the most common coverage level, generally providing benefits when your pet is sick or hurt.

Comprehensive :- Comprehensive pet insurance policies typically offer coverage for both accidents and illnesses, providing peace of mind to pet owners in the event of unexpected veterinary expenses. Additionally, many policies offer benefits for routine care, such as vaccinations and worming’s, which can help prevent illnesses and keep pets healthy. To further enhance their coverage, pet owners may opt for policies with higher annual benefit caps and/or reimbursement rates, which can increase the amount of coverage available for their pet’s healthcare needs.

while considering pet insurance options, it is important to be aware that there are an increasing number of products offered by well-known brands that may appear to be pet insurance, but do not, in fact, provide coverage for treatment. These products are often marketed as “wellness plans” or as add-ons to other insurance policies. Always take time to read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) carefully before purchasing any insurance plan to avoid confusion and to ensure that you are making an informed decision. This will help you fully understand what you’re getting for your money and avoid any surprises along the way.

Key Coverage Terms plans

While every plan is different (and again – read the PDS!) here are the main criteria I use to elaborate pet insurance policies:

Reimbursement Rate & plan : –The reimbursement tentative rate for eligible expenses varies depending on your insurance plan. Typically, pet insurance plans will reimburse between 70% to 85% of your treatment costs.

Excess : – When you make a claim, excess amounts are subtracted from the total amount, which affects your reimbursement. For instance, if you have a $200 excess and an 80% reimbursement rate, you will receive $80 on a $300 claim. Some plans apply the excess only for the first time a pet is treated each year, while others apply it to every visit. Excess amounts range from zero to $200, and some plans allow you to select your own excess amount.

Annual Benefit Limit :- this is the statement for that you can Annual reimbursement caps range from $5,000 to $20,000.

Sub-limits :- In certain situations, your total benefits approximately will be capped at a much lower amount, such as for paralysis tick treatment or cruciate ligament surgery.

Pre-Existing Conditions :- If your dog or cat was treated for an injury or medical condition prior to purchasing pet insurance, any further treatment is usually excluded from your coverage. Buying pet insurance when your pet is small can help keep this list of exclusions short, as older dogs and cats usually go to the vet for a variety of ailments and injuries.

Policy Waiting Period :- When you purchase a pet insurance policy, immediate coverage for accidents is usually included, while full coverage for illnesses may require a waiting period of several weeks. Typically, most plans have a waiting period of 21 or 30 days before providing benefits for illnesses. However, for more complex procedures such as cruciate ligament surgery, longer waiting periods may apply.

Policy fair price : The cost of pet insurance can vary from less than $30 to more than $100 per month. Many factors can affect the price, such as the type of policy, coverage level, your pet breed, age and gender, your location, and taxes. Pricing strategies differ among different brands – some operate on low profit margins, while others charge high markups. It is essential to compare policies and consider all factors to choose the plan that best suits your budget and your pet’s needs.

Next, be sure to read my pet insurance reviews for an overview of whatever plan you’re considering. Remember, only you can decide which is the best pet insurance plan for your needs and budget.

It’s essential to conduct your own research before purchasing any insurance, including pet insurance. Although I’ve invested hundreds of hours in researching pet insurance, meeting with industry experts, and gathering opinions from vets and pet owners, it’s important to note that I am not a trained or licensed insurance advisor. Therefore, this website is not a substitute for conducting your independent research or consulting a qualified insurance professional. Taking the time to do your research will help you make an informed decision and find the right pet insurance policy for your furry friend.

This is One of the reasons that i have created this website was because I noticed that many other pet insurance sites only featured the brands they indemnified. As a result, I wanted to provide unbiased information about each pet insurance brand, in order to give pet owners a comprehensive overview of their options. While this undertaking requires a fair amount of effort, I have signed up as an affiliate with a few brands to assist with the maintenance and operation of the site. It is important to note that I do charge a small fee if you buy pet insurance through one of my affiliate links, but this will not affect the price you pay. The end goal is for you to choose the plan that best suits you and your pet’s needs. Thank you for supporting this site, and I hope it helps you make an informed decision on pet insurance.
